As to the recognition of those translators dealing with engineering
technology material, their knowledge range, basic capabilities, actual
experience and psychological quality would be evaluated additionally,
besides checking their titles of technical posts recognized by country
at the large.
Three different classes of translators recognized and divided by
our company:
The first class: 8-year or above translating experience, be competent
for translating of patent, bidding document, standard related material,
criterion and contract, and so on, be good at both foreign-Chinese
and Chinese-foreign translation, the correcting-rate must be within
10%-0.
The second class: be competent for translation of any sorts of technical
material except for patent, bidding document, the correcting-rate
must be within 20%-10%.
The third class: can only deal with the translation of one certain
professional technical material, the correcting-rate must be within
30%-20%. This is the lowest standard for a professional translator.
Our company stipulates: Translators lower than the third class must
be listed out of the translating team.
To guarantee the quality of translation, Hualian Yatong Translating
Center conducts some training campaigns for her translators according
to concrete tasks, besides contributing items according to translators'
respective classes and specialities.Those main translators must comprehend:
1.The background and significance of the translating item.
2.Those proper words, translating style and other demands on language,
typesetting / edition-design and other concrete specifications, the
application and operation of electric dictionary and other computer-application
soft wares.
3.The whole process of task-division, translating operation and
the demands for them.
4.The current situation of related vocations and the up-to-date
technology and their developmental trend.
